Scanning Music to Catch the American Dream On A Segway
So, I logged on this morning to discover a couple of fun tidbits awaiting me @ Slashdot.
TidBit 1)
Apparently, the "HPScanJet 3c/4c has a variable speed scan head that is driven by a stepper motor. The Play Tune command can be used to move the head at different frequencies." What does all that mean? Well, when programmed your scanner can make music! Don't believe me? Well, don't take my word for it. Check out this video of a ScanJet playing "Fur Elise" by Ludwing Van Beethoven.
TidBit B.
Ever wondered what the American Dream is? Do you think you can catch it on a Segway? In an upcoming documentary two guys will attempt to by travelling across the country on one. Imagine Long Way Round except they're going across the U.S. instead of around the world, and they are travelling via Segway, not motorcycle. Why didn't they call Will Arnett to promote this thing? COME ON!!! Check out the trailer for 10 mph here and check out their website here.
